This may not be such a great idea -- I've found the OOo-2 packages on
Ubuntu unable to open their native files (the application segfaults --
I've tried on both x86 and ppc platforms). If you really want to try the
latest & greatest then you will find debs that can be installed on
Ubuntu at ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680
(you do need to use dpkg -i --force-overwrite as some files are
duplicated between subpackages).
