I've been using Thunderbird ever since Warty came out.  I'm very happy
with the built in spam filter.  Took a few weeks to train it, but rarely
a false negative these days and even fewer false positives.  When that
does happen, hitting the "Junk" button (or the "Not Junk" button, as
appropriate) lets the filter know what it should be doing.
