ubuntu and vnc - lost Win partition

Normally windows partitions (or any other) are not erased unless you 
explicitly do so in the partitioning phase of the install. Do you remember 
the questions about partitioning, and if so did you by any chance make a 
note of what you did?

Even with a simple install like Ubuntu, it's probably not a bad idea to 
note on old fashioned paper what you do as you go along ;-)

In any case, it sounds like the Windows partition is gone so it's probably 
too late to discuss it except for futute reference.
