This short series has a number of suggestions for increasing performance
of the Linux desktop by making a few tweaks. It primarily focuses on
Ubuntu and FC 3.

For people who consider Openoffice.org's applications slow to start, for
example, these will improve their performance dramatically and increase
the overall performance of the desktop.
