XFCE, Gnome or KDE ?

AFAIK, XFCE was around long before Gnome. I think Gnome actually
approached XFCE to see if they would like to stop XFCE and move on to
this (back then) new Gnome project they had in mind, but XFCE prefered
to stay true to themselves and let the Gnome team create/start their own
DE.
Not that I am an XFCE fan or anything, I don't even use it. But the
creator is a fellow Frog so I somehow felt the need to put things
straight ;-P
