Hi all,
after the posts to this list with install probs, I have been wondering
if it would be possible for me to make a "how to" on
installing Ubuntu. I only have Warty at the moment,
have dial up so download is not an option.
I have in mind a step by step, with screenshots of what each
step in the install actually looks like, including partitioning,
which to us newbies is confusing, so new users can see before installing
just what they are in for. Any ideas on how can I aquire screenshots
of the actual process? Is it possible? Can I extract them from the
installCD?
Don't think photographing the screen during an install is an option.
For ex windows users who have no experience with command line, and
where everything is just done for them it can be a big step when for most
users they only want a usable operating system, and are not interested in
learning too much. Example my Ex, now lives in US, and rings me (Australia)
for computer help just not interested in knowing .
Thanks in advance.
Take Care
Winton
