Playing mp3's and KDE gui sounds interrupt each other

Recently I've been finding that when I play mp3's in amaroK and then
say minimize a window in KDE, it cuts the sound of the mp3 for a few
seconds.. is there any way I can stop this? Other than disabling all
KDE GUI sounds?
