Help please: Sudden System Shutdown on Powerbook under Hoary.....

you could try installing powerprefs (in the universe), its an interface to all the pbbuttons settings.

maybe reinstalling gnome might fix it. sound like it suffered from not having a clean shut down, possible it corrupted some config files.
