deleting packages

Hello

I try to clean out some packages I do not want to use ever. Like Evolution  
and others.
If I do unistall (either in Synaptic or in Shell) the statement is allways  
that ubuntu-desktop will be removed too.
Should it not bother me to remove ubuntu-desktop or what else to do?
