On the other hand, if it isn't obvious what solved your problem,
*please* send a message saying how you did solve it. These mailing lists
are (supposed to) be archived, and Google will index those archives.
So a "Thanks: option A didn't work but option B did just the trick"
message will help other people in the same position without them having
to ask.
It looks like those archives get pretty high rankings in Google. [1]

[1] Sometimes I Google for the silly quotes my sigmonster puts in my
signature. I used to post a lot to the Fedora lists: often my signature
in an archived Fedora List mail will turn up above the original.
It looks like I'll be able to do the same thing for the Ubuntu lists...
