"Re: Contents of ubuntu-users digest..." - Help

Not to sure if this is the right way to submit a question. I am new to the 
linux world and have just installed Ubuntu with the default GNOME desktop 
and also the KDE desktop. I installed the OS on a Compaq Presario 5250(?) 
running at 400mhz with 320 meg or ram. I am having some problems getting it 
to read the sound card on the machine. I dont know what type of sound card 
this is running. I am just looking for the easiet way to try and get this 
resolved. Thanks for any help provided. Also, kudos to the folks who 
developed this distro. Besides the sound card issue, everything is great!!!
