Blank screen when switching to a terminal

Similar to me on Compaq Evo 1020v with Hoary Preview. 

After installation and restart I see the broken background and two mouse cursors. When I hit ctrl-alt-f1 i get a terminal with update download progress. 

When I cancel update or Ctrl-Alt-Backspace or after next restarts everything look fine, but ctrl-alt-f1 shows blank screen.
