Blank screen when switching to a terminal

I have a laptop, acer aspire 1350 and when im in the xserver
everything is fine, but if i hit CTRL+ALT+F1 for example then i get a
blank screen. The computer keeps running but i cant see the terminal,
the only thing i can do is puss a lot of times CTRL+ALT+Backspace
until the screen comes back and i can see the terminal that i was
using (when the blank screen) for a while and then comes back to the
session screen of Gnome.

I dont know what to do, ive tried acpi=off, vga=771 and vga=791 (this
last one is what i used to install ubuntu)... but nothing worked i
think it has to be something with the x.org but i dont know what to
do.
