It sounds to me like a hotplugged watchdog driver that isn't getting the
input it wants and so shuts off the machine; Debian has had problems
like this reported in the past, and the fix was to blacklist the driver
in question. Can we see the output of 'lsmod', 'lspci', and 'lspci -n'?
