CLAM Antivirus

Hello

how do we install a 'xxx.TAR.GZ' file?
i mean at the right place as i already have installed a version of that  
program.

i downloaded CLAM Antivirus as recommended on ubuntu website.

the version is 0.73, and i do not understand what else they talk about  
version 0.80 on that ubuntu page.
now there is a much newer version available on

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86638&release_id=304772

this file is not a DEB file.
what will i do with this TAR.GZ to get CLAM upgraded?
