Hi! I upgraded my system from Warty to Hoary and I found the following
issues:

1. When starting gnome I get the following message: Error: Failed to
initialize HAL!.

hald is running, I'm running a custom vanilla 2.6.11 kernel, the same
that was running with Warty without trouble.
4189 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/hald --drop-privileges

What may be wrong here? how can I solve this please ? if I go to 'System
 >Administration>Device Manager' the window will open and inmediately
close, I think it maybe related to the HAL error.

2. The mouse cursor in Warty was a white arrow and while waiting for
events there was a 'circle', now I have the default X11 watch and a
black arrow, how can I change this to the Warty style ?

Thanks for any comments, the rest is just fine.
