unable to reinstall grub

[cj pangilinan]

grub starts counting by 0. That means:
grub            linux
(hd0)            /dev/hda
(hd0,0)         /dev/hda1
(hd0,1)         /dev/hda2
.....           .....
(hd1,0)         /dev/hdb1
