"Computer"-Menu actions lag by up to half a minute

I've noticed this too, but less often on Hoary than on Warty. I
believe (with no definitive evidence) that it happens sometimes if
there's a change to the mounted file systems (i.e., what's displayed
on the desktop). It often happens, for example, if I mount or umount a
samba share and then immediately try to log out. Did you recently
insert a CD or mount or umount a camera or something?
