Ah okay, I understand now. The first I (may people I guess!) do when
installing HOary or Wart, is to junk Totem-Gstreamer as it's useless,
and replace it with Totem-xine. In doing so , I think Synaptic always
wants to remove Ubuntu-Desktop.

At least it all makes sense now :o)
