Ive never heard of cd-text and a quick search doesn't turn up much,
except that Gnome Toaster might be able to help you.
As for ripping a cd, I use goobox. Its a sweet gnome cdplayer that does
cd extraction in the most simple way Ive seen yet. Its quick and easy.
As for what backend it uses, I'm not entirely sure.
But as for cdparinoia, I know it rips cds slowly when the cd is
scratched up. It tries and tries till it gets the correct data or it
descides it can't get the data. And if cdparinoia can't get the music
off the disc, that cd is done for.
I would try goobox if I were you, its nice.
