Sound card not working

Yes, had the same problem on my desktop machine at home. I downloaded
the 1.0.8 ALSA driver and compiled the azx card driver. Note this is not
the latest version. The latest seemed no to include this card's driver.

Download the sources from www.alsa-project.org. You will also need the
linux headers and the build-essential packages.

Once unpacked, do

./configure --with-card=azx
make
sudo make install

and reboot.

Note the Alsa mixer levels are initialised to 0 to begin with so you
need to turn them up.
