Do not use 2.6.11. 2.6.11 isn't supported in Ubuntu, and 2.6.11 is the
worst kernel in 2.6 series. Just, don't use. Use 2.6.10 or 2.6.12. And,
use kernel-sources from Ubuntu, cause they are patched to work with
Ubuntu. Kernel.org's kernel don't have inotify, ipw2200, and other
goodies that Ubuntu's one have.
For DVD, I don't know, my DVD allways worked ok. Large/small files, it's
irrelevant. Allways worked. Checkout syslog after it freezes. Maybe you
will find answer in there.
