Use Ubuntu on a laptop

I am using a router/hub to access the Internet - so I don't use the 
modem - just a normal network connection

I downloaded the .iso of the live cd and I'll burn it asap and try - the 
video could be aproblem as it has a particular resolution ... I hope 
that it will work - it doesn't matter if I need time to configure 
smaller particulars step by step - the important thing is that I can 
work with OmegaT (Java-based CAT-Tool), OOo, Internet browser and E-mail.

Of course I need to find some kind of accounting software ... but as 
much as I read about Ubuntu it could be my chance to leave Win XP (and I 
have been waiting for this quite a long time).
