Numeric pad keys mapping

Hi,
I am using Ubuntu Hoary.
I would like to use an application via telnet that requests a numeric
pad keys remapping. The problem is I don't know how to set this up...
With Solaris this mapping is sitting in .Xdefaults file and contains:
XTerm*VT100.Translations: #override \
       <Key>F1:string(0x1b)string("OP")\n\
       <Key>F2:string(0x1b)string("OQ")\n\
       <Key>F3:string(0x1b)string("[A")\n\
       <Key>F4:string(0x1b)string("[B")\n\
       <Key>F5:string(0x1b)string("[D")\n\
       <Key>F6:string(0x1b)string("[C")\n\
       <Key>F7:string(0x1b)string("OS")\n\
       <Key>F9:string(0x1b)string("OR")\n\
       <Key>R8:string(0x1b)string("[A")\n\
       <Key>R10:string(0x1b)string("[D")\n\
       <Key>R12:string(0x1b)string("[C")\n\
       <Key>R14:string(0x1b)string("[B")\n\
       <Key>L6:select-set(CLIPBOARD, CUT_BUFFER0)\n\
       <Key>L8:insert-selection(CLIPBOARD, CUT_BUFFER0)

I have 3 questions:
1) Is this syntax correct to configure my terminal running Ubuntu ?
2) In which file does this configuration go ?
3) How can I do for this mapping to apply only to 1 app (profile ?): I
don't want my numeric pad messed up in OOo
