Hi.  I installed Ubuntu a month ago on my Acer Aspire 1683 and it's
working just fine except for suspend issues (no suspend on lid close)
and battery management -- this can be a headache but it's like riding a
motorcycle with no fuel guage: you get the feel of the juice you have
left.
