glade shouldn't advertise the use of glade--. It's unmaintained and you
really want to write the code you use yourself, really. I can only
strongly advise you to use libglademm.

You may want to have a look at:

http://gtkmm.org/docs/gtkmm-2.4/docs/tutorial/html/ch19.html
especially.

Apart from that, the documentation in /usr/share/doc/libgtkmm-2.4-doc/
and maybe the guys at #c++ on irc.gnome.org will surely be of help also.
