 I guess it's DHCP that overwrites your /etc/resolve.conf. 
There's /etc/dhclient3/dhclient-script where you can find make_resolv_conf() 
function. 

 The easiest way it's to take +w bit from /etc/resolve.conf by invoking chmod 
u-w /etc/resolve.conf as root.
