This error is from the Sound Daemon, which in turn relies on the driver for your sound card. /dev/dsp is the digital signal processor device (part of your sound card). The fact that it is missing seems to indicate that your soundcard driver is not loaded. unfortunately, I have no idea in what way virtualpc presents the hardware to the guest OS. -- nocturn
