currently, I monitor the temperature of my CPU, only. This can be done
on the command shell:
# cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/temperature
temperature: 49 C
It is not that nice for beeing required to look that up, but it
shouldn't be hard to implement an small application in python which
displays that temperature in gnome-panel.
For me it is not very important to observe other values, because I
don't overclock my system. If I did, I would have a look at
lm-sensors.
