Beside everything else, do you know that PS/2 is NOT capable of hotplug?
There is a good chance that you _might_ kill your PS/2 port. I've managed to
do that myself some years ago.

You should consider getting hold of a USB mouse. With that, you are on the
safe side regarding hotplogging etc.
