In synaptic, in the group Installed (local or obsolete) I have six items.
libedataserver1.2-0
libegroupwise1.2-2
libgtkhtml3.6-15
libwnck4
linux-image-2.6.10-2-686
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.10-2-686
I know I haven't chosen to install these in addition to the default.
They could be "leftovers" from other applications I've installed and
removed, but I doubt it. I understand the system that handles
dependancies to work "both ways" so I believe Synaptic would remove a
given package along with the last application that depended on it.
Or? Especially when considering the last two items it's hard to
imagine they're "leftovers" from me installing and accasionally
removing programs. So my guess is that this is stuff made _really_
obsolete on my system, by security updates or something similar.
Am I right? And can I tell use Synpatic to remove these to no ill
effect to my system?

Bjørn Ingmar
