Shorewall isn't a GUI tool; more of a simpler scripting language than the one 
that IPTables provides.  However, it is pretty simple, if you copy from the 
examples.  For most setups, you'll only need to add simple entries to a 
single file that say what ports to open, and to whom.

Another nice feature is that shorewall scales well: if you *do* need something 
more complex later, like port forwarding, Quality of Service control, or 
Virtual Private Networking, it's all available.
