Just how small can you go?

I'm halfway through installing Kubuntu onto a Latitude CP - same specs -
but I'm having trouble with the sound system.  On first boot into
installed system, KDE threw an error message (which hasn't appeared
again).  KInfoCentre doesn't have any information about the soundcard
(which worked fine under windows).



Any light you can throw on this matter?
