I have something similar with a piece of software I installed to help in
handling my colour printer which has a USB connection. I am able to use
all the facilities provided by this software except for one which needs
to scrutinise the printer at the USB level which, as I understand it,
can only be done at the root level. Hence, it is the only command for
which I have to use sudo.
