which progrraming language to learn first

Ive been trying to learn C for a long time and found it realy does not
teach me programming syntax its more like memory work from the
tutorials. As others have mentioned perl etc would be better as it
could teach you more syntax and how things work and are a lot eisier to
follow (Read). Im like Linux and ntfs I can read but can't write yet
lol.
