Problem with characted encoding on Ubuntu 5.04

Hello,

I just installed streamripper in my Ubuntu 5.04 and I am recording
some streams of webradios. Some of the mp3 files that are being
generated have their names changed and have the "(invalid encoding)"
phrase added to its names.

These are the files that have accents in their filenames.

My language is brazilian portuguese.

Can someone explain how to resolve it?
