In my experience as of late (X was horribly screwed up near the
beginning of Breezy's life, which is to be expected), the plain old
"nv" module/driver has been working fine for me and my TNT2 card. That
said, Breezy isn't my main desktop. I'm luckily one of those people
that friends and family dump old computers on, so I have a separate
machine to keep an eye on Breezy's progress.
Most of the "work" I do with Ubuntu involves The Gimp and Inkscape and
right or wrong, the restricted "nvidia" module/driver (can those terms
be used interchangeably?) seems to perform much better for me. I'm
holding off on trying to get the "nvidia" module working in Breezy
until things are stable enough that it "just works".
That's my $.02 :o)
