Great! So your MEncoder is not to blame! The problem is most likely in
your settings of "acidrip". I just installed it to see if it'll work on
my system and I tried to rip a DVD with XVID, in a 1 pass configuration
it worked flawlessly (although the encoding is not finished yet, I can
play the movie), in the 1st pass of a 2 pass configuration, there's no
movie to play, but the file "~/xvid-twopass.stats" is created and is
updated as the time go, and last in a 1st pass of a 3 pass
configuration, there's the file "frameno.avi" which contain only a
sound, and it's playable by MPlayer just fine. So I think it worked
fine with me (I'm currently in the process of encoding a DVD, if it
*fails* to finish, I'll post here so that you know you're not alone).

Tinkle with your settings in "acidrip", disable some settings just to
see what will happen, try other things to encode.

If all that fails, do what you usually do to encode something in
"acidrip" and click "Queue" instead of "Start", and go to the "Queue"
tab and copy what's in it (be careful if there's private data you don't
want us to know it) and post it here again.

Ziyad.
