Yes! Start with "gpg". There's a lot of informations in their web site
<http://www.gnupg.org>. Also, see the manual page of "gpg" and pay
attention to the options "--encrypt", and "--decrypt".
Also, you might be interested with "losetup" and the option "-e". See
"man losetup" for more information about that. As always, if you need

(Note [Off-Topic]: In my previous message, a put some marks ("journal
file-system"¹, "wipe"², and "shred"³) that I forgot to include the
footnotes for them. I was going to explain the difference between a
"journal" and a "non-journal" file-system and include the addresses of
the homepage for the utilities "shred" and "wipe", but this seems
unnecessary now.)
