TOTEM : image but no sound

Hi 

I jsut installed ubuntu, when i try to play an avi movie i get the image but no
sound from totem. i installed totem-xine instead of totem-gstreamer but wont
work either.

i have sound when listening to musik and system sound too.

what can i do to get it working
