wxPython or wxWidgets in Warty uses GTK1

I recently posted this at the forums to no avail, and this is the problem.
Either the wxPython or wxWidgets (I'm believing the latter is the
primary suspects) package has been configure to use GTK1, because the
versions of wxPython and wxWidgets can both be configured to use GTK2.
The Hoary packages I am told both use GTK2.
Now, I question what could possibly be the reason for configuring it
like so, or perhaps it was simply a mistake. If the maintainer(s) of
this/these package(s) could possible fix this, or if anyone know why
it has been set up like this, I'd appreciate an answer. :)
