Er... you have always been posting your replies to me only. Maybe you should 
re-post your problem (and the possible solutions you have tried) to the list.

Just install the linux-restricted-modules package from Warty, it should be 
built against 2.6.8-686. You also would have to install Warty's fglrx-driver 
package, because the kernel module and the X driver must match.

If you want to use the latest fglrx X driver from Hoary and an older kernel, 
you'll have to recompile the fglrx module yourself...
Stay tuned as I will post a mini-howto (and feel free to bug me if don't 
before tomorrow, because I've done that already and would just need to repeat 
the procedure and write it down).
