Hi, nice to notice you are still with me:-)
I'd like to have the latest and greatest, but I'm just a regular user
who stares with his mouth open when he is told that "First, make sure
you have compiled and installed the dependencies" - compiled?? :-)
(Well, I have a general idea on what compiling means in programming, but
I have never compiled anything (at least that I know of :)). I tried to
install graveman because I wanted something clear and simple instead of
K3b for me and people who I help with Ubuntu (Nautilus CD-Writer isn't
working for them for unknown reason, and yes, there are people using
Ubuntu who know even less than I do :) and I'm afraid of starting to
drift away from clear and simple here. But perhaps I should study this
compiling thing - do you know a good guide for newbies? (Something like
"Become a master in compiling in ten minutes" :-)
I wouldn't like to install anything that might cause me problems later
with something else. Can there be some conflicts with dependencies when
I later update my system, if I now compile and install Graveman? Could
some other problems occur? Could I ever update Graveman normally with
Synaptic again, or would I have to do it manually from now on?
Sorry about being such a [put a fitting word here], but my system
already sometimes behaves strangely and I'm just trying to be cautious
not to make anything worse.
Ari
