Sound on an Asus M6000R

The first thing to check is whether the sound is muted. I don't have
my ubuntu box running at the moment, but I believe the command to run
is alsamixer (try 'apropos alsa' if alsamixer isn't found) and turn
off anything that's muted. Let me know if that doesn't work.
