Echoaudio Mia problems

Hey everyone. I'm attempting to get an echoaudio mia
soundcard going in my Ubuntu Hoary install to no
avail. The driver was included in the recently
released alsa-driver-1.0.8, which I noticed was
uploaded as a source package just a few days ago to
the hoary repos. Well, I "apt-got" the package and
built it successfully. However, when I run "sudo
modprobe snd-mia" to load the driver I get this
message:

FATAL: Error inserting snd_mia
(/lib/modules/2.6.10-2-386/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mia.ko):
Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see
dmesg)
FATAL: Error running install command for snd_mia

The site for this driver says that this (and the
associated dmesg output about modules "disagreeing"
with each other) implies some incongruency in the
versions of the snd-mia modules and the other alsa
modules. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to fix
this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the wonderful distro and inspiring
community.

Cheers,
Brad
