Package: sl-modem-source
Version: 2.9.9-1
Severity: normal
On some computers I've tested this on, the sl-modem-daemon works great
with the ALSA snd_intel8x0m driver (a Dell laptop), and does NOT work
with the slamr module. On other computers, the opposite is true (A
Uniwill laptop).
So for computers that work with the slamr module, the ALSA one should
not be loaded, and vice versa. Thus, when the sl-modem-modules*
package is installed, a hotplug blacklist.d entry should be created
for the snd_intel8x0m module, to prevent it from loading. That
blacklist entry should be removed when the sl-modem-modules* package
is.
Problem: if the sl-modem-modules* package is removed but not purged,
that blacklist entry, as a conffile, could remain in place, causing
failure of sl-modem-daemon. Perhaps rather than have it be a
conffile, it should be created by the postinst, and removed by the
prerm on both remove and purge.
Please forward this bug to the Debian maintainer if you are not the
same person.
