Mobile phone/PDA combo that will sync with Ubuntu.

I just got inspired by this little sidebar discussion.
I can't transfer contacts or anything from my P800 to
Ubuntu Warty at this point (no Windows boot and the
Lin alternatives mean basically you have to be a guru
and jump through hoops), so I beamed all of my
contacts from the P800 over to my Handspring Visor. I
tried to get started with gnome pilot, but the Visor
didn't register when I pressed the HotSync button on
the USB cradle. I am pretty sure that the cradle is at
ttyUSB0, but maybe I need to do something with the
vendor and deviceID as well? What do I do and where to
get the HotSync working?
