networkmanager in universe?

Was looking at this page today:

and on it, the main developer says:
Your favorite Linux distribution probably already has packages for
NetworkManager. Fedora Core, Debian, Gentoo, and Slackware are
supported out of the box. You can use your distributions package
management tools to download and install the NetworkManager
programs if it has been packaged for your distro.
He then gives an example for fedora.
The package is an applet which displays any local wireless networks, or
so I think.
I can't seem to find the package for ubuntu hoary using apt-cache
searching on something like "networkmanager" and so on. Since the hoary
branch is very recent....
Is this app likely to show up in the near future in Debian, or ought I
to just compile it myself if I want it?
