How to check for a package on your site?

Hello,

I'd like to use this thread to check on the status of something like
"packages.ubuntu.com" (especially since the corresponding
feature-request https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2766 still
seems to be resolved).
Any news on this already?

Thanks to everybody making Ubuntu possible, it's really great!
