Remote desktop support like in knoppix?

I just tested Gnome's remote desktop and connected to it on my Windows
box at work.

Now correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I believe Gnome uses VNC as the
protocol for sharing, and the remote desktop functionality in Windows
can only access over RDP (the Gnome Terminal Server Client however
accepts lots of different protocols to connect to, so while you can't
access Gnome from Windows, the other way round should work).

Anyway, I downloaded 'RealVNC' (http://www.realvnc.com/) for windows
and ran the Desktop on my Ubuntu box at home (1Mps in 24dpi at
1280x1024) quite smoothly. Moving and resizing windows causes a bit of
lag and slow redrawing of the screen, but even at such a "modest"
bandwidth it still worked great.
